All-Salman 2nd Team

Spring 2006

Offense:

Offensive Line

Abdur-Rafay Shareef
(Only 1)

Abdur- Rafay aka Raf is a new comer to the IPF but showed that he was made for the physical play on the line that makes this tournament great. Teamed up with 1st teamer Yasser he kept his QB out of harms way throughout the tournament.

Danny Varghese
(Glory):

Danny had a solid tournament giving the Glory QB ample protection to make the plays they needed in getting to the semi finals. He is versatile enough to play any spot on the O-line which makes him tough to beat.

Quarterback

Asad Khan
(Only 1)

Asad had another great tournament in leading Only One to the finals for the third straight year. Nobody is cooler in the pocket than AK who throws ball that is easy to catch and is always getting to the WR in stride.

Center

Ali Iqbal
(Only 1)

Ali was another first timer to IPF and did a great job protecting his QB. Another giant from the Only One OL he surprised a lot of people with his great, quickness and speed. He had huge catches and was a favorite target for Asad.

Wide Receivers

Azeem Bhutta
(Lights Out)

Azeem is fearless coming across the middle to make big play after big play. He had more catches for 1st down in tough situations that any other WR. He is a big target with great hands.

Milan Rami
(4U2NV)

Milan is a threat to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. This guy is definitely a speedster who is always looking to make plays and is tough to control once he's in the open field.

Nomi Ansari
(Only 1)

Nomi Ansari. If IPF had a GM of the year award he would be getting it hands down for always having new faces on his Only 1 squad and still making Championship game appearances. But with the GM skills he has he is also a potent WR as DB's that slept on him found out all tourney long!! Lightning fast and hands of glue make him a no brainer for an All-Salman Team selection.

Defense:

Defensive Line

Farhaj Haq
(Only 1)

The other half of the dynamic duo on Only 1. These brothers compliment each other perfectly. Where Wahaj uses his speed, Farhaj uses his strength to bull rush the o-line and put a hurtin on the QB. For a guy his size, he's deceivingly fast. A lot of QB's tried to outrun him, but he was a like a lion chasing down his prey.

Arsh Manejwala
(Lights Out)

Guy is known more making big plays in big games. The biggest play all tourney came in the championship game as Arsh picked off of a pass and returned it for a TD. He relies on his quickness and can make o-lineman look stupid with his lightning quick moves. Can either beat you off the edge or cut back and explode to the QB. Either way he's going to make you pay.

Linebacker

Denny Varghese
(Glory):

Has a great nose for the ball. Had key INT and returned for scores that swung the momentum in Glory's favor. Has great side line to side line speed and can completely cover the width of the field. Showed why he was in the middle as he made plays repeatedly the whole tourney.

Cornerbacks

Faisel Maniar
(Lights Out)

Very aggressive CB who had 2 INT returned for TD's. Definitely knows how to play the position well. Smart and intelligent, he would time his break on the ball perfectly as evidenced by his picks taken back to the house.

Jinu Alex
(Glory)

Jinu was one of the main forces behind Glory's defense. He was all over the place, picking passes off, knocking the ball down or making big time tackles. The guy made plays all over the place and helped his team get within one game of the championship.

Safety's

Usman Hussan
(Diplomats)

Young kid who made a huge impact in the IPF tourney. He was picking off pass after pass using his height to his advantage. The guy knows how to play Safety and plays it well. His potential is unlimited and just imagine that he's only going to get better. Now that's a scary thought.

Mo Ghumman
(Only 1)

6'4, 230lbs and can run like a cheetah. How do you beat someone like that? On deep passes, he would outjump his man or on shorter routes, he would use his speed to breakup the pass. The guy has it all and is not afraid to showcase his skills.
