The following players have been selected on to the All-Salman Team. This team is selected after each tournament and is made up of the best players that played in their respective positions. Congratulations to all the players that were selected.
All-Salman 1st Team Fall 2006 Offense:
We start the Offensive Team with the Offensive Line...because these guys are the ones that win championships for their teams and are the unsung hero's:
Vinson Vadakara The Bandits came out and proved that you can have a running game in the IPF. Vinson was a big reason why the Bandits had success on the ground and their QB had all day to find his receivers.
Irfan Jamil Irfan is a QB at heart but put his ego aside for this tourney and moved to o-line and dominated. His ability to block and plays when he gets the ball in his hands make him an easy pick for the 1st team.
Danny Varghese Danny was a huge reason why Glory made it to the finals and why Jinu is an All Salman selection at QB. Danny and the entire Glory O-line played physical smash mouth football that has not been seen in IPF before. Quarterback
Nick "Vick" Patel The Fall 2006 IPF Tournament MVP. Nick is a double threat. He has a cannon for an arm and can make plays with his legs as well. Add in the fact that he doesn't make mistakes and you'll know why he is the most dangerous QB in IPF. Wide Receivers
Denny Varghese Denny made big play after big play all tournament long. His ability to come up with the big catch when it matters most makes him an easy All Salman 1st teamer.
Usman Jamil Usman is a point-guard turned receiver and he plays WR as well as anyone. He goes after balls like rebounds and there aren't many DB's that can go and get em like Usman!
Nomi Ansari Nomi continues to make an impact in IPF. He has the speed to beat guys deep but its his precise route running that makes him tough to cover. Defense: Defensive Line
Ronnie Kurian He was a terror on D-Line. There were times when his team just sent him in by himself and he still was disruptive in the backfield. An absolute terror that makes life of the O-line absolute hell.
Arsh Manejwala Aarsh is the energizer bunny of IPF. He goes head up with bigger dudes and never backs down. He makes life very uncomfortable for opposing QB's Linebacker
Gautam Ullah An absolute terror at the MLB spot. He didn't let anything get by him with 13 tackles, 4 sacks, and 1 Interception for the tournament it was a no brainer selecting Gautam for LB and it shows why Chicago knows about Linebackers. Cornerbacks
Sameer Patel The Fall 2006 IPF Defensive MVP. Any ball that was thrown his way was being picked off. Sameer was all over the place and just when the QB thought he had an open WR, Sameer would step right in front of the pass and take it the other way. On Championship Sunday Sameer had 5 Interceptions!!!
Manoj Kannookadan Athletic CB who shadowed his receiver whereever they went. Was constantly around the ball and making plays all over the field.
Denny Varghese Denny is shut down CB. He played most of the tournament in one-on-one coverage and held his own and led his team in tackles! Safety
Amit Gupta Was talking trash while making plays. Ball hawking safety who made numerous plays for his club to give them a chance to survive. Completely took the deep ball away from opposing offenses. |
